Pedroza Communications Questionnaire Privacy Notice

Your trust is very important to us. This means that Pedroza Communications is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data. It is important that you read this notice so that you are aware of how and why we are using such personal data. This privacy notice describes how we collect and use personal data about you during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with data protection law.

Why are we doing this and how can you participate?

Pedroza Communications is working with the BBC Education team to understand more about how teachers are using BBC resources in their classrooms. Teachers and other school staff are invited to share their thoughts and experiences with us through a questionnaire. All responses to the questionnaire are entirely voluntary.

You may share your thoughts anonymously and need only give your name and other personal details such as your email address if you are happy for us to contact you to discuss your experiences further. If you do not give your personal details then we store no personal information and your responses will be used for market research purposes.

Those who we contact may be included in PR and publicity work but only with their express permission.

We may use your contribution for promotional purposes on the BBC’s social media sites without your personal details included. Your contribution will only be used if you give us permission to do so (anonymously or otherwise) within the survey or in follow-up conversations.

What personal data will Pedroza Communications collect and how will we use it?

Pedroza Communications will collect and process the personal data for the purposes of including them in our research into how BBC resources are being used (Market Research use of anonymised contributions), and for the purpose of contacting willing contributors to discuss their experiences further with potential for some people to contribute to PR and marketing activity where they are happy to (Promotional use with consent).

Pedroza Communications will collect and process the following personal data about you:

  • Your school
  • Your email address
  • Your school role
  • The country you teach in

Who is the Data Controller?

Pedroza Communications is the “data controller” of your personal data. This means that Pedroza Communications decides what your personal data is used for, and the ways in which it is processed. For the avoidance of doubt, your personal data will be collected and processed solely for the purposes set out in this privacy notice. As the data controller, Pedroza Communications has the responsibility to comply, and to demonstrate compliance with, data protection law.

Lawful basis for processing your personal data

The lawful basis on which Pedroza Communications processes the personal data is consent: where the individual has given clear consent for us to process their personal data for a specific purpose. This purpose is to gain deeper understanding of teacher use of BBC resources and for consenting individuals, who give their personal data, they are giving consent for us to contact them for further comment.

Sharing your personal data

Pedroza Communications works with our approved third-party providers who help us to provide some of our services. These partners only use your personal data on behalf of Pedroza Communications and not independently of Pedroza Communications. For the purpose of this questionnaire the data will be processed through Google Forms and Google Sheets, with Pedroza Communications remaining the data controller.

Where you have consented to discuss your responses further and are happy to enter into a case study or other promotional activity your data will be shared with the BBC Education team where appropriate.

We may share personal data with a third party where required or permitted by law.

Retaining your personal data

Any data we use for the purpose of the market research part of this survey will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed, at such time as Pedroza Communications is no longer working on any project with the BBC Education team , rendering this data no longer needed for the purpose it was intended.

Your personal data will be stored in the UK and the EEA.

Your rights and more information

You have rights under data protection law:

  • You can request a copy of the personal data Pedroza Communications stores about you.
  • You have the right to request that we rectify any inaccurate or incomplete personal data that we hold about you.
  • You have the right to ask for the personal data we collect about you to be deleted however there are limitations and exceptions to this right which may entitle Pedroza Communications to refuse your request.
  • In certain circumstances, you have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data or to object to the processing of your personal data.
  • You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal data to you or to another organisation, in certain circumstances.
